Generation M: Media-Saturated, Multi-Tasking, Multi-Media
Ages 8-18
Children engage daily in many forms of media including: the internet, television, movies, music, magazines, wireless media, and video games often, they are using multi forms of media at once.
The average young person spends 6.5 hours a day engaged in activities such as watching television, playing video games, using the internet, and listening to music. This can be compared to 1.5 hours of physical activity, 1 hour of homework and .5 hours of chores.
Media consumption is noted as a contributing factor to a variety of health concerns such as poor nutrition, obesity, unhealthy body image, poor self-esteem, risky sexual behavior, and poor lifestyle choices.

Keep the computer out of the bedroom and place it in a highly viewable area
Plan weekly television viewing (excess viewing can be harmful to healthily physical and mental development)
