Perth Care for Kids Child Care Centre
Perth Care for Kids, located in Mitchell, offers 67 licensed child care spaces for infants to children 6 years old. It also has off-site programs at Mitchell Public School and Upper Thames Elementary School for Kindergarten children and offers before and after school care for children ages 6-12 years. Full-time and part-time care is available, though presently there is an extensive waiting list.
Philosophy:
The Philosophy of Perth Care for Kids is to provide high quality child care in a safe, healthy and positive environment. Through varied play experiences and the guidance of specially trained staff, your child will be exposed to situations that will stimulate:
curiosity, initiative and independence
self esteem and decision making capabilities
interaction and respect for others
physical activity developing gross motor skills
communication skills and fine motor development
We endeavour to enhance child development according to each child's individual needs and age. The centre also attempts to develop staff to their full potential ensuring maximum effectiveness of the program and promote a positive view of early childhood education to the community.
Staff Qualifications:
Perth Care for Kids full-time staff are graduates of a two year Early Childhood Education college program or have an equivalency status granted by the Association for Early Childhood Educators. All staff are required to provide a Criminal Reference background checks, a Children's Aid background check, as well as an up to date First Aid Certificate, and updated immunization record. On-going workshops are provided for staff to add to their knowledge base and keep their qualifications current.
