Nursery Schools
Perth Care for Kids oversees nursery schools in St. Mary's, Mitchell and Milverton. Attending nursery school gives children a richer pre-school experience. Nursery school is often a child's first regular experience away from home, and he may require a good deal of support to adjust to this group play experience. Some of our nursery schools are run cooperatively with parents and have specific expectations laid out for parent involvement.
Nursery school runs for 2 1/2 hours, with one or two sessions a week for children ages 2 1/2 to 5 years of age. The school year runs from September to June. Each class has a maximum of 16 children. Programs include crafts, circle times, play centres, field trips and special activities. Our Nursery Schools welcome any child into our program regardless of the child's needs. Our Nursery Schools have access to a Resource Consultant to support them in helping children to reach their full potential. With parental consent, the Resource Consultant will come in to provide suggestions and recommendations to support any child with special needs.
Our programs are licensed under the Day Nurseries Branch of the Ministry of Community and Social Services. Staff are graduates of a two year Early Childhood Education program or equivalency status granted by the Ministry of Community and Social Services. Staff are also required to have background checks and to maintain an up to date First Aid Certificate.

Our Nursery school operates Tuesdays and Friday mornings at Milverton Public School. This program is staffed with two qualified staff.
This program operates Tuesday, Thursday and Friday mornings at our Mitchell Public School site. We operate as a parent cooperative nursery school with parents scheduled as part of our staffing requirements.
Blanshard Nursery School (located in St. Marys)
Our program operates as a parent cooperative on Wednesday mornings only at St. Mary's Presbyterian Church on Widder Street in St. Mary's. Parents are scheduled as part of our staffing requirements.
