What an Early Years Centre is:

An Early Years Centre provides free programs focusing on child development, for children 0-6 years and their parents or caregivers. Parent and caregivers play a very important role in shaping the way children will learn, think and behave in the future. It is an incredible responsibility which can seem overwhelming at times.

Early Years Centres can support you in this incredible privilege by:

Some common programs at Perth-Middlesex Early Years Centres:

Multi-age Playgroups:  Together, children experience a range of age-appropriate activities while parents, caregivers and staff share and learn from each other. Some playgroups have a specific focus such as science, active play or imaginary play.

Family Time:  Parent information sessions on a variety of topics while children are cared for by Early Childhood Educators

Infant Programs: Opportunities to get to know other parents who have infants; programs include rhymes, songs and exploration of toys

School Readiness Programs: Children experience a semi-structured setting, with literacy and numeracy activities designed to prepare them for school
